Brake Line Bending - Not So Hard Once You Get The Hang Of It
One of the first things I did was to mount the master cylinders and run the brake and clutch lines. Thanks to the posters on the FFCars forum who let me know that you should mount the windshield washer reservoir BEFORE you run the front brake lines. I also didn't like the way FFR used bent aluminum brackets to make the transition between flex and hard brake lines up front. I ended up using 18" stainless steel braided brake line on all four corners, and cut up the FFR brackets up front to use in a different mounting configuration. Essentially I riveted a portion of the bracket interior to the aluminum shheet metal, and drilled a 7/8" hole through the sheet metal to access the bracket. Much cleaner install IMHO. Also made new larger rear flex/hard adapter plates for the rear. Routing all the hard lines was easy - EXCEPT for the left rear - took me 5 different pieces of brake line before I got it right $%!@#! And I ground off the "Corvette" logo on the calipers and painted black.
